Are You Trying To Figure Out What’s Next For You In Your Life?
I was talking to my friend George today who is trying to figure out what’s next for him. His job recently downsized and he is now working part time making much less than what he was used to. He is doing some affiliate program and trading FOREX and also looking into Network Marketing. He is still OK financially, but the downsize has abviously put a dent in his lifestyle. He is now looking, but doesn’t really know what he is looking for. His challenge is that he really doesn’t have direction {…}
Start With Why
As I was talking to George, I realized that he didn’t really have a why, a purpose, a reason to get out of bed every day with a pep in his step. Ever feel like when you wake up in the morning it’s going to be just another day? Do you feel like life is just passing you by? You wake up in the morning and say to yourself, is this all there is? Are you in a job, business or even in Network Marketing and feel this way every day? Do you even know why you are doing what you are doing? What is your purpose? If you don’t, then there’s where you first have to look.
In order to get where you want to go, you need to know where you are going people say. Is that enough? Does that inspire you? People don’t want a Million Dollars, but rather what a Million Dollars will make available to them. You see, we are all chasing a feeling, we are all chasing a purpose; something bigger than us.
Consider that anyone in history, who did something great. Had a very big why. Dr Martin Luther King “Had a Dream.” Sr. William Wallace (Braveheart) wanted freedom for Scotland. Mother Theresa wanted to end hunger. These were all men and women who were willing to risk everything for their why.
Now I’m not saying to go out and change the world; unless you want to of course. What I’m saying is go out and change your world. Become the father that you want to become, the husband that you know you can be, the leader that is still inside you. Go do something with your life that will make a difference.
If You Know Your Why, Getting Motivated Is Easier
If your why is not big enough you will not have the motivation to move forward when things get tough. You will not have the influence over others required for them to follow you. You will certainly not have the energy to take action when you “don’t feel like it.”
In Network Marketing specifically, if your why isn’t big enough, one too many nos’ when you show someone your business will eventually drive you to quit. When your broke brother in law tells you “it’s a pyramid scheme and you’re going to jail,” you will quit. When you don’t see your business growing fast enough, or growing at all, you will quit.
My Why Is Bigger Than Your No
As I have been involved with Network Marketing, I will admit, there has been many times that I have wanted to quit. I have sometimes gone through 30 nos’ before a yes. I have had ignorant people tell me that what I’m doing is illegal. I’ve had my family members laugh in my face telling me that “those things don’t work and why am I wasting my time.” Sound familiar? You know why I didn’t quit? Simple. My Why was bigger than any of those things.
You see, I decided a long time ago that I did not want the corporate gig, the lack of freedom and the ceiling on my income. I want so much more. That is why I chose Network Marketing.
I want my kids to learn about the Great Pyramids not from a book, but rather from seeing them with their own eyes. I want to be able to jump on a plane on go on vacation without having time and money be an issue. I want to be able to do what I want, with who I want, when I want. Most important, and this is my biggest why. I want to change lives and I want to help others achieve their dreams and most of all I want to help others figure out and live their why. That is why I do Network Marketing.
Network Marketing Is Just a Vehicle
Now, you can pursue your why with just about anything. It doesn’t have to be with Network Marketing. That is just the vehicle I chose. It’s just that in my humble opinion, I can’t think of any other industry in which the playing field is so level. You don’t have to be a genius, have umpteen degrees and you don’t even need lot of money to get started. All you have to be is open, love people and have a burning desire to make a difference. Simple? yes! Easy? no! I chose Worldventures as my vehicle. I get to travel and get paid to do it. To me, that was a no-brainer! Which one are you going to chose? When you choose that company, make sure it does fit in with what you are passionate about.
